Shoulders and Anxiety Workshop
What is Anxiety? The weight of your world on your shoulders. The amount you think about your
life/self is pivotal. For instance, I’m in an all weekend training. All week I’ve been gearing up
for how tired I’ll be Sunday night, because the weekend is so long. I’m totally forgetting I get
two Sabbath’s (nights rest) in between. I’m owning the fatigue of the entire the experience when
that will literally NOT be my reality!
Much of the “triggers” we experience are due to history and expectation. What has happened to
us in the past. What we think will happen to us. The latter is because of what has happened to us.
So, we see, processing our past matters!
● How we make decisions:
● You struggle with negativity bias. Good News!!!
We are wired for a negative lens. We see the wait list, not the good food at a restaurant. There is
also a lie of perfectionism that permeates so much of what we do, and we do not even realize it.
Believing the lie of perfectionism is, quite literally, living in an alternate reality that does not
exist. What a relief it is when we find out, we do not have any expectation on God’s end of
perfection. We see evidence of that in Paul’s teaching in Colossians.
